Video masking, bluescreen, background removal but I want to do it briefly. First I want to start some stuff I have done recently. It might help you if you are looking for final projects innovations. The first thing I want to show you, when I first stsart working with video 1996 after graduating ITP, the project that got him programming into C. Easeil project where you can dip your easel into a 3 different brush and then start drawing on the canvas which is back projected. Idea is to create a three distances from the user outwards. First one camera is pointed to the user himself. The most immediate one. Camera down the hall is the second one. Location. third one is the live television. Timestamp and new channel. a signature. For me it is important an objects to be beautiful. The other thing is the intuition of the interface. The downside of the using metaphor doesn’t change over time. people could take it really literally. Separation between the content and the structure.
The cans are empty cans but when you dip your brush it changes between three different location scales.
I typically pretend not to do my artistic experiences show on the computer. Using computer, puts you in a different mindsets. For young it puts you it is a game playing device, for an old, it is more traditional office device etc. So he is trying to avoid this kind of mindsets by creating applications independent from the computer.
Paint-Cam Webcam Painting Tool (2003) He jumped to the point where he is brushing with the contents that is coming from the webcams over the world.

He was interested in the digitsal image itself. The nature of it, what makes itself. What gives it a character and take them pixels and play with them. Only ever few seconds they take up the color of the actual pixel and move the pixel to there.

Average Frames -> Normally you see lots of noise in video that can be irritating to the eye but more than importantly while you are doing some kind of tracking noise competes with what you track and that’s where averaging becomes important.
Blue Screen
We have two buffers, vide and image buffer. What we do do is when we draw, when we click the mouse we get the bluescreen color, it picks it up and then everytime it analyzes the pixels and looks for that blue, if it is similar enough we get the pixel from the image and we put the pixel there and if it is not similar enough we don’t get anything from the image.
